PHS Open House Reminder

Dear PHS Parents and Families,

As we hope you know, our annual Open House is this Thursday, September 23 from 6:30-8:20 p.m.  This virtual event will allow you to meet all of your child's teachers, learn about the curriculum in each course, and understand student learning expectations.

The night will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a brief "Principal's Welcome," where I will frame the evening for everyone.  After that, all parents and caregivers will join a Google Meet with their child's Period One teacher from 6:40-6:50, and after a 5-minute transition period, parents and caregivers will join their child's Period 2 teacher via Google Meet from 6:55-7:05.  This process will repeat until all we have progressed through all seven periods.  For your convenience, the evening's complete schedule is below.

Principal’s Welcome: 6:30 - 6:35 p.m.

Period 1: 6:40– 6:50 p.m.

Period 2: 6:55 – 7:05 p.m.

Period 3: 7:10 – 7:20 p.m.

Period 4: 7:25 – 7:35 p.m.

Period 5: 7:40 – 7:50 p.m.

Period 6: 7:55 – 8:05 p.m.

Period 7: 8:10 – 8:20 p.m.

Each of our teachers has created a joining link to his or her Google Meet, which we have pasted alphabetically into this Open House Google Meet Spreadsheet.  Parents and caregivers should have this Google Sheet open throughout the evening so that they can quickly find and click on a teacher's Google Meet joining link during the appropriate period.

As an important reminder, we are requiring all parents and caregivers to join all Google Meets with their child's PPS Chromebook or by logging into another device with their child's PPS Google account.  This will allow us to know the identity of all attendees and greatly reduce the chances of our evening being interrupted by people with bad intentions.

If your child has a study hall, you can enjoy a 10-minute break or use that time to catch up with your child's guidance counselor, one of our adjustment counselors, or an administrator, all of whom have joining links in our Google Meet spreadsheet.

We are looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow night!  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
