Kindergarten teachers encourage their students to explore the world around them.  During the school year, your child will learn to:

• Describe the weather changes from day to day over the seasons
• Understand the life cycle of plants, animals, and insects (e.g., the butterfly)
• Recognize the importance of protecting the environment
• Understand scientific vocabulary for grade level
• Recognizing that people and animals interact with the environment through their senses; sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste
