Dismissal & Arrival
This won’t change from past-practice, but we will change if needed *No parents/others allowed in the building unless it’s an emergency.
Front Entrance (Door 1)-Parent Drop Off and Pickup
- 8:05 AM will be the earliest entry time (unless you have YMCA care)
- You may park in spaces out front
- Students should be masked when entering the building-escorted by teachers/staff.
Bus Drop Off-Building Rear (Door 9)
- Busses will drop off in a staggered manner
Late Arrivals and Early Dismissals
Parents should check-in from the front of the building/building speaker.
Early dismissal procedures or late drop off will be similar to our previous practice with the exception that parents will wait outside the main doors for their children. Administrators will complete the information needed for the dismissal book (time & reason).
Student Backpacks & School Supplies
Students will be carrying all their materials, (e.g. Chromebooks, lunches, water bottles, art supplies, binders, notebooks, pens/pencils, etc.) so backpack weight will be something we want to remain mindful about.
Students will need a labeled bag of art supplies (e.g. colored markers, colored pencils, scissors, etc.) to use across courses.
- Students will not be allowed to share materials
- We will have some new school supplies in the office for students who may need them.
- Teachers may communicate additional supplies needed after the start of school
Supply lists are posted online.
Masks
Staff, like students, must wear face masks, except when eating (or during teacher announced mask breaks).
- No neck-gators or bandanas allowed for students or staff
- Masks must be worn when entering the building
- Students should bring masks from home but the school will provide masks to students, as needed (e.g. lost/broken).
Lunch
At the start of the day, students will place their cafeteria lunch order with their teacher online. Breakfast, lunch, snack will be delivered to each classroom. Lunches will be grade-based and occur in the classroom or outside. Students may remove masks and eat while seated at least 6 feet apart. Water bottles are recommended. Students cannot use their mouths at any of the water fountains.
Be mindful of Nut/Peanut Free classrooms when planning your child's lunches. Please do not send any peanut or nut containing product for your child to eat. Letters from the nurse were included in the classroom placement mailings.
The lunch menu is posted here.
Transportation
Transportation routes will be posted to our website by the end of the day on Friday, September 11th. All students will require a current bus pass in order to receive transportation. No exceptions.
Bus passes have been mailed over the course of this week and anyone who completed the transportation registration should receive their pass in the mail no later than Monday, 9/14. If you do not receive a pass in the mail, you will have to transport your child to school until you complete the transportation registration. All students grades 7-12 are required to pay for transportation and payment must be processed prior to a bus pass being issued. Please contact the transportation office at 781-829-0832 with any questions.
Technology & Materials
Cohort A & C Students will receive their technology and materials on the first day of in-person instruction on September 15th.
Cohort B & D students can pick up their materials on Friday, September 11th from 12:00 PM- 3:00 PM or Monday, September 14th from 9:00 AM- 12:00 PM. Please pull up to the front of the building and a staff member will deliver materials to you. We ask that you wear a mask for your safety and the well-being of our staff.
Please note Kindergarten and Grade 1 students will receive an Ipad. We will send a separate communication regarding Ipad pick-up.
Students will be expected to use a school-issued device while in school. We cannot support personal devices at school, nor can we push out important software on personal devices. Students are free to use their personal devices at home, although we strongly encourage them to use the school-issued device so our Technology Department can troubleshoot any issues.
If you cannot pick-up a school-issued device prior to the start of school, please reach out to the building principal. In the meantime, you can use a personal device while learning from home.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this unconventional start to the school year.
